Moyes watches game involving Pranjic

25/06/2012 | Comments (6)
Clubcall actually admits the dubious nature of this link to Daniel Pranjic, in whom David Moyes is supposedly interested on the basis of having been at a Euro2012 game where he played recently — although the link between Everton and the wing-back pre-date the tournament.

Pranjic, 30, is out of contract after a tough season at Bayern Munich where he was hardly played by coach Jupp Heynckes. The Croatian, who featured in his country's 1-0 defeat to Spain last week, fired a parting shot at Heynckes last week by criticising his substitutions in the Champions League final.

Moyes went to that match and the link may be based purely on that and the fact that Pranjic is looking for a new club, having admitted last week that he had an offer from China.

We'd of signed him in January if Bayern didnt move the goal posts when it came to fees!.

At first we had a £1m deal agreed for him and apparently personal terms was agreed aswell and he was ready to board a flight to take part in a medical and sign the deal but at the last minute Bayern upped the price and the deal fell through.

Moyesy was at the Croatia, Spain game and no doubt was keeping a close eye on Pranjic and will of had words with Jelavic to persuade him to join this summer, where he's a free agent now.

Surely for free he would be seen as a better deal/signing this summer than he would of been at £1m in January, so im sure Moyes would still be interested in a deal for Pranjic?!.

I know he's 30 but he's still a good, neat and tidy player that can play a number of positions and his experience and versitality would be off great benifit to us IMO!.

Decent player. Can play left wing or left back which is useful in our threadbare squad.

Wasn't this the chap that was coming to us on deadline day before his club demanded a fee for him at the last minute? Could be something in this one!

Moyes was at the rugby at the weekend... maybe he's after a full back?

hmmm,.. Interesting one this, it's going to leave a lot of speculation for everyone outside the loop so everyone wondering will now have a shed load more lazy/prodding journalism to contend with.

We need both backup and competition for Baines so this would be a decent solution. China are throwing silly money around at the minute though (even for Yakubu!) so would have to hope the lure of the Premier league would be enough.
