Redmond only has eyes for Blues

If you believe The Mirror, Nathan Redmond has told Birmingham City he wants to go to Everton. Both Norwich and Swansea have agreed a £2m fee with Birmingham for the talented England Under-21 international. But Redmond, 19, is said to be holding out for a switch to join Roberto Martinez at Goodison Park.

At long last, a bit of good news(assuming it,s genuine) that we have a bright young player who actually wants to join us! I must admit,I do like the lad and have seen him playing for the Under 21's recently and he was one of the few who actually stood out amidst a poor showing from the team in general! I must also admit that this Aidan McGeady link keeps re-appearing which I honestly hope is wide of the mark! They always say, there is no smoke without fire! Fire extinguishers at the ready!

It's not Phil is it?
Bill will give him a 4 year contract if it is.

Good one for the future this, and will start off as a squad player. Will hopefully make an impact in the season.

I know we're skint, but if it's the reported 2 million, esp for a young ENGLISH player, with pace and skill, it's a bargain.

The same guy James referred to has also said that Norwich have agreed a 8 million fee for Leroy Fer.

Did not see that one coming!

Good, let's get the great transfer ball rolling.

Alcaraz , Honda, and Redmond all for a grand total of 2 million would be a great start to our transfer dealings

Mark( #317):

Honda is under contract till December, so some sort of fee would be payable if we are to bring him in quickly. €5.9M has been mentioned.

Birmingham mate of mine has said £2m is absolutely ludicrous for this lad, so good bit of business if we can make this happen.

Wasn't aware of that Matt. Have you seen what it says on Honda's Wikipedia: Honda, also known as "Ikrah Hafna", on June 28th 2013 he signed with English club, Everton FC.

Mark, most of Wikipedia is editable by anyone. I recall when we first signed Phil Neville some wag edited the page such that he'd been killed in a car crash. I seem to remember a few on here changing some pages after some dutch courage.

Wikipedia says he already plays for us, so it must be true.

Honda would be a huge signing for Everton. He's a terrific player. Of everyone that we have been linked with lately I really hope he is the one we get.

Wikipedia can be temporarily edited, but if there is no source to back up the information the administrators will quickly remove the changes. It is a pain and I hope they find a way to check submissions before they are put on the site as this kind of thing discredits an otherwise excellent website.

I seriously hope this is true. I've wanted this lad for a while... great potential and an ideal candidate to either replace Pienaar in the long run, challenge him for playing time. A young, tricky and pacey player that would thrive with our club.

Honda would be one of the signings of the summer really hope that one is true. Surely there are bigger fish in for him though?! He's a class act.

Sky Transfer Clockwatch says reports in Italy say we have bidded for Honda. Please be true!!!!

Honda would be a very exciting development. If we do bring him in, and others, neurotic Evertonians (I include myself) will fret that the money is Baines/Fellaini money.

The under 21's were rubbish.

In the recent WCQ Australia vs Japan, Honda was a stand out and a contender for the MOM award.
He covered every inch of ground, popped up all over the pitch, matched the Australians for hardness and used the ball with intelligence. A powerful long range shooter.
I have no qualms whatsoever in saying at 6 mil he is an absolute bargain.
My one niggling doubt is it seems odd that a player with his proven ability is priced so low.

Dick, Honda is a free agent when the Russian season ends in November so could walk for owt then. That's why he's being touted that cheap.

Agree with Peter, the russkies will take what they can get for Honda. We need to be quick or someone else will jump in first. Where's 'arry redknapp these days?

where he belongs Colin.
I could be a successful manager if I spent fortunes every where I managed!
Good players allow you to be perceived as a good manager.

Honda looks a decent player, We will be linked with a few players, interesting to see Newcastle have said they won't go over £6 million for Darren Bent, long overdue we nick a player from under Newcastle's noses for a change. Darren Bent and an inform rejuvenated Jelavic in attack, Heintinga offloaded and money spent on Lescott to tighten the defence.

Keeping hold of Baines and Fellaini and I reckon the following 11 could do some damage.

Howard, Coleman, Baines, Lescott, Jagielka, Pienaar, Fellaini, Honda, Mirallas, D Bent, Jelavic, hard to leave Distin out but just felt Lescott for the longer term.
