Everton bid €9M for Brazilian midfielder

Heard this one the other day, hard to know if it's got any substance to it! What I am curious about is all the names we are being associated with are all a few million each,apart from the Belgian starlet (Junior Malanda) who is available on a free,(get in there Robbie) where is all the moolah coming from?

I hope this is true. Worth every penny if given time. Will struggle for one or two seasons but will develop into a super player. Only a kid. Has great vision and distribution. I fear this is just an agent playing the tabloid game though and we'll be looking at this guy for The Scumbags instead. Won't be another Joe Allen. If there's money, then this guy and a box-to-box man would be great replacements for Fellaini, as I believe he will walk. Any money if Baines goes could be spent on his replacement and a serious striker. Won't be the end of the world if our two best players go. Remember Rooney leaving? Things didn't go too badly after that!

According to Wikipedia he's actually Italian (although Brazilian born) and has 1 appearance for the Italy under-21 side.

What a difference than previous years when we were reported to be interested in a Man U reject or some other no mark. I'm really excited about the coming season, all the signings so far have been far better than I expected. I think we can safely say we won't be a feeder club for Man U rejects

Derek #354 I read about the Belgian lad - available on a free transfer. In The Comments section. After the article, one poster said "we had this fella on trial at Cheltenham, and he was judged not quite good enough." I personally couldn't comment, but it's just a cautionary tale about being linked to some of these "starlets"... I'm sure RM won't be kidded too easily though.

If we do buy anyone from now on in, you can bet a grand to a cornflake there will be one of our best players in the noose, with of course a rumoured 'close to' selling price.

He would be an amazing signing if we could pull it off but I'm not sure we all know how tightfisted Bill is and he won't be giving money out to easily.

Wondering about where the money's coming from. But are we not due about £51M from TV revenue? Surely Roberto is "allowed" to have about half of that to buy in new players???? Then, this story could become a reality....

Hmm, is he actually Brazilian? There have been cases in which players have faked a passport to sign for Italian clubs. I would much prefer Matri from Juve, but he might be a step too far.

Junior was bloody awful when Moyes gave him a chance against Leeds. I mean the whole team was awful but Junior in particular looked the worst.

I don't know that opening fixture at Norwich just got a little more difficult, we might have to settle for a hard-earned point down there come August.

Paul (400) According to the general reports Fer has signed for Norwich (pending international clearance) for a fee around the£4M mark, Diame is being talked about £3M--£3.5M! As you mention he could be a better bet as he already has Premier experience!

Junior was very poor in that game, no arguments. But he has looked very accomplished in the U21's. Another one who would probably benefit from first team football in the Championship, I feel.

Junior and Gueye looked lost but they hadn't played a proper game for months.
The only one to shine was Oviedo. I expected him to go on from there but it didn't happen.

Interesting to see Junior in the A team with Jags, Baines, Fellaini and co in training.

Great to see Martinez in a real tussle with Fellaini.

I think Fer will score goals in the premiership, although I think we are looking for someone with a wider range of passing than he has for our midfield. That may be a bit odd for a Dutch player as they are usually very technical, but I didn't see it in the games he played for the u21s. Cahill mk II?

I know you shouldn't take too much on youtube videos of players, as a couple of mins means nothing. But the youtube vids of this guy make him look crap, and normally the videos on there make players look awesome.
