There is a rumour doing the rounds from within football circles that Dithering Dave has an offer on the table of £40M for a dual signing of Fellaini and Baines? This offer will supposedly go public this week.Anyone else heard this?

It probably has some substance as we all know how much DM likes to go with what he knows. Good deal if you ask me. Gives us £20M a piece which is decent. Baines is nearly 30 and Fellaini is an in-and-out sort of player... Bite their hand off, I say — if it's true.

Moyes is certainly pushing his ass luck with us. He once valued Baines more than what he is offering now.

I have real hope that Baines will stay, doesn't seem the type to have his head swiveled by greedy frigging agents( see Rooney) Fellaini on the other hand I think may be moving on.

The decision is for Baines to make, he either signs a new improved contract or we sell him for 16-20 million.

I find it quite amusing that we've signed 4 players already, and Man Utd have signed none, even though, Man Utd will have a large transfer war-chest.

It makes me wonder if DM is really just a ditherer in the transfer market. I can't remember Moyes ever been as rapid as Martinez has been signing players so early in Transfer market. Time will only tell of course.

Steven @683 - I completely agree with the reasoning for your valuation.

The moment Utd buy him he will immediately, and belatedly, be installed as the first choice left back for England, and United would not consider letting him go for anything less than £30M at the end of next year because they know they couldn't replace him with better.

We'll accept less because we need the money and nobody else is lining up to pay more. Personally I'd pay what it takes to improve his contract and sell Fellaini for as close to £23M as we can get.

Personally, I think 18million based purely on his abilities, is a fantastic deal for a left back of his age. Arsenal got a younger? Monreal for less than half that...Barcelona brought a younger Alba for less than that. But Baines is central to so much at Everton...he is essential both defensively, and offensively, and is a superb passer and crosser of the ball. At United he won't be so essential...anywhere else probaly, he won't be so essential. But for us, he is brilliant, and probaly, imo, the best player we have. 18million is a great amount, but I wouldn't sell him for that. Whilst Fellaini is younger, i'd prefer him to leave over Baines, as I think he is less consistent, although sometimes world class, and I think his exit is inevitable...whereas I think Baines will finish his career at Everton if he is still here come September 2nd, or whenever the transfer window shuts this year.

£18m is complete joke. Baines is the best player we have had since Rooney and to sell him for less than we got for Lescott would be stupid!

Man Utd are taking the piss and not just with us. Pay the going rate or fuck off. There is nothing more annoying than the Sky darlings trying to screw smaller clubs for their best players on the cheap!
