McManaman will cost Everton £15m

That is an absolute joke! The lad only really burst onto the scene in the early part of this year, and although he has ,no doubt put in a few good shifts,there is nobody going to pay 'monopoly money' for the lad!
There again, it is probably just Wigan putting him out of reach for any potential suitors!

I meant to add to my previous post that Dave the Peg Whelan (back of the van,tracky and trainers man) has, according to his valuations got a team,that is worth the same as Real Madrid on paper!
Unfortunately they play on grass!

Its a sign that the TV money has increased from this season and so do the transfer fees and wages, so as it is all relative there is not change, except for players and agents to get a lot richer.

Anyone can appear to be good during the 2nd part of a season when everyone's legs are getting heavy. It is well known that fresh young players play fast. Let's see what he is like with a full season or two behind him to find out what is worth is. £15m is a total joke at the moment.

15million...sure. I wonder where they plucked this figure from? Ince is available for 8, Thiago only went for 21ish? Cazorla went for 16ish. But half a season McMananam is worth 15?! honestly, I think Wigan would accept around 6, max. But I think it would be more sensible waiting, than taking the plunge for that. Although, if we do sell a big player, at least we know Martinez knows McManaman's ability better than other manager in football.

The way things are going it would have been cheaper for Kenwright to buy Wigan lock stock and barrel. He could have sold EFC to his mate Woods and taken over a club that he could manage without the pressure of 40,000 mad Evertonians. Win-Win.

For a guy who couldn't get into the Wigan first team till January? No thank you. Anything more than £7m would be a waste on a player who has really only had two or three good games.

I think that broken leg has gone gangrenous and gone to Whelan's head. He, macnamanam, was only valued at 5m tops a few weeks ago. It's a pity Rainhill isn't still open.

I would like us to sign McManaman but for something around £5mil. To us, he is no where near worth £15mil.

However Wigan are well within their rights to charge what they want. If they demand £15mil then we just walk away and look elsewhere.

Wigan are being silly but you can't blame them. I would rather we said Baines is worth 30m to put people off. Its up to the player to force a move if he doesn't want to play in the Championship.

I'd like him to come here. Around the 5m-7m mark would be realistic.

Methinks there are too many would-be journos all over the footy pages right now. It's pretty clear that whoever wrote this piece got his Macs mixed-up. McCarthy is worth about £10m not McManaman- even the fella that broke his leg in the cup final wouldn't ask for £15m for McManaman.

The £15 million quoted is for the rest of the team we haven't bought already.

I don't want him, I think £5M would be a massive mistake. I'd rather young players got promoted. He's a no-trick pony with pace and nothing else. He'll get worked out by defenders, and he's a dirty get.

I think we bid £1.0m and Wigan want £1.5m. Seriously I can't believe people would pay £5m yet alone £15m.

Holden at DM came right back to his best and played 90 minutes.

Mickel Diskerud at CM once again played a blinder. Value £800K this 6' talented 22 yr old goes box to box with great intelligence. Short or long, his passes are never misplaced.

Now with Rosenburg this lad was plucked out of obscurity by Klinsmann when regular squad members were engaged elsewhere..

In short, there are highly talented players everywhere. They lie undiscovered because they are in the wrong place at the wrong time. It's up to our scouts to get off their fat backsides and find them.
We can all find guys like Siqueira or the PSG lad. Spotting a "Diskerud" takes a lot more work.

With all these deals going on between Everton & Wigan, I have to feel sorry for the people that have been involved in them. Imagine being in a room with Whelan and Kenwright, one of them harping on about broken legs and the other talking about the boys pen. It would be like to senile old men talking about war stories.

15Mil is an absolutely crazy price. I wouldn't honestly pay anything more than 2.5m for him. Nathan Redmond went for about 3m, who has played twice as many games as him and is 3 years younger.

I agree with all the comments posted above. £5m would be generous. £15m is just bonkers!!! Wigan obviously want to hold on to him, and I think he will a good job for them in the Championship, but he has not played enough to justify a massive fee. One great game versus a below par Clichy does not make him a world beater! Time to look elsewhere!

Just been reading we are interested in signing Atsu from Porto for £4m, yes, probably a load of bollocks! but more likely than us paying £15m for McManaman. Atsu would be a top signing in IMP

We should have bought Holtby for the €1m instead of farting around with Fer. I still feel sick when I think about it, especially when we would've paid £4m more than what he went to Norwich for.

Draxler is a fine player to Ross, would cost a few bob though.

If we stick to signing players from one club, we'd have a severely restricted view of football wouldn't we? We should be doing what Swansea are doing and unearthing players like Michu or Villa with Benteke.

£7m for Chadli looks like very good business for Spurs again. Young European player who could really flourish in the Premier League; if he doesn't, I would be very surprised if they could not ship him to Germany or back to Holland for little or no loss.

Roberto was a summariser at the Confederations Cup, surely he spotted some talent while watching.

Surely he watched the Under 20s World Cup as well, some great talent lying there like gold ready to be picked out. Look at the RealSociedad midfielder Illaramendi who went to Real for £34 million.

Surely Roberto has links with Spain. There must be some youngsters like Deulofeu lying around Spain, I expect him to use his expertise to sign them.

Chadli is a good signing. Thankfully Spurs only spent 50p on their left back.

£7 million for Chadli is a barguin. Yet we are mulling over a £15 million move for a Wigan player who has had one good season. I know Roberto has come from Wigan, but there are better players who could do a job for us going for much cheaper.
