Martinez looks to bring in a Pitbull

Everton are being linked in the Sunday People with a move for Sevilla's tough-tackling midfielder Gary Medel.

The 25 year-old, who has earned the nickname The Pitbull for his tenacious performances in midfield against the likes of Lionel Messi, could be an alternative to pricier domestic options like James McCarthy should Marouane Fellaini move on this summer.

Chilean international Medel is apparently available for around £6m.

If,it's true a central midfielder of his calibre would be a good addition! I think the Prem is going to be a bit harder than last season! So, if we can get a strong squad we could make a decent impression and hopefully improve on 6th!

I've seen this little guy play for Chile, and Harold's scouting report is right. The stamina problem can be fixed, and the guy he'd be replacing isn't the paciest player in the world However, Medel 's big issue is his temper. He gets sent off a lot, and I saw a YouTube clip from last season of him kicking a plastic chair into the faces of a couple of cops sitting nearby.

We saw enough cards from Fellaini before he matured. This guy we don't need.

Will be annoying if we sell fellaini after having passed on wanyama, fer and capoue who looked like the three obvious replacements.

I'd never heard of him until today. I'm quite happy with what we've got tbh. If we could sell Heitinga and Gueye to get another CM player in I'd be happy or, why don't we get Malanda for free?

James, reports are it's more to do with CSKA in no rush to move Honda on rather than any problems arising from a possible transfer to Milan.

I'd be happy with the squad we've got and hope to get another good attacking midfielder on loan or someone available for buttons with a year left on his contract. Ljajic is being linked from Fiorentina.

Just read a great article about the training methods of Mourinho and Rui Faria
When asked why they don't do any physical strength training or pure running, instead concentrating on ALL work done with a ball,he said "the pianist does not train by running around the piano"
When asked why he tells the strikers to stay in central positions " because that's where the most chances to score a goal will be"

Similar to Martinez instructions it seems.

I suspect Fellaini will open the season with us and then be snapped up by whichever of last season`s top four start slowly.Will probably mean that there will be no time to find a really top rate replacement.

Done a bit more research into this guy there are a couple of question marks, ie stamina, gearbox problems, can't get into fourth or fifth! What does stand out is his temperament, do we rally need a player who runs the risk of a red card by virtue of his style! It's hard enough with eleven at times,let alone ten!
So f*ck the Pitbull and just get the Dog's Bollocks (whoever that is Capoue,Chantome or McArthy)

More media rumours. A pitbull was what desrcibed Graveson but he was quite slow and his tackles were late so we don't need a similar player.
We had enough of the woeful tackling that Fellaini had in his first season.
Hopefully if another midfielder is coming then he can tackle well.
