Blackburn's Scott Dann is next to be linked

Everton and Fulham are supposedly interested in bringing defender Scott Dann back to the Premier League, at least according to the Daily Mail's latest dubious report.

The suggestion is that the 26 year-old wants to leave the Championship and the Blues could be tempted if John Heitinga leaves this summer.

Yes, if Heitinga goes, then we should be looking at getting a centre-half... but right now, after Sunday's performance, I think it is evident to all that any funds we have available (without selling) should be put towards a creative or powerful midfielder.

What's with all the links to defenders? Haven't these hacks noticed that Moyes has left and we are a new dynamic attacking side with our new manager and should be linked with attacking midfielders.

I think I'd rather we looked at defensive midfielders who can tackle and pass a ball.

Attacking wise, I think we're ok in midfield. We just need someone to start those attacks off.

Believe it or not, he was linked with his boyhood team when he was at Birmingham. But Liverpool never made their move, much to his regret.

Guys, when we were linked to him, he made the BBC Football cock-up of the week video trying a ridiculous cross field pass to another defender right across the pitch a charging opposition striker happily picked up the gift of a pass and ran unopposed to their goal and scored. No way do we want to waste money on this guy. I will see if I can find the clip.
