Blues linked with Sissoko move

Everton are considering a move for former Liverpool midfielder Momo Sissoko on a free transfer according to the Daily Mail, possibly as cover for Marouane Fellaini should he leave this week.

The 28 year-old Paris St Germain man, who rejected the Blues to make his move to Anfield, is apparently Robert Martinez's new target after Gareth Barry reportedly indicated he would prefer to stay at Manchester City.

The Mail report suggests that Cardiff City are also Sissoko who could command as much as £70,000 a week.

Not too sure about this one, especially if he's demanding the wages mentioned, at that rate it's £3.5M per year! Okay, he's allegedly on a 'free', as far as transfer fees go.
As I remember, he didn't exactly set Anfield alight, and got shipped out after a year. I am always curious too, with these 'top players' being available on a 'free'.
I suppose a lot will hinge on what happens this week, as far as our situation on who stays, and who goes.

If he's willin to take abit of a wage cut I'd have him, could be useful if stays fit, I'd spend what ever money we have on marrone young Italian international, and if felli goes then spend the money on McCarthy and Moses?

Didn't he do the dirty on us when he signed for the other lot?? I seem to remember him being as good as signed before he waltzed across he park. As it turned it wasn't a bad move cos he was pants!!!

If he's a free transfer, with our reduced wage bill he should an addition to Fellaini. We are showing an alarming lack of ambition and finance again - I hope I've spoken to soon with the transfer window still a few days before closing, but it doesn't look very good.

Don't fancy this at all. He was rubbish last time out at Liverfool and has flitted from club to club all his career disappointing people as he goes!

We shouldn't be looking at signing players, who have been around for a while, who are being released by other teams, unless they have something about them & I haven't heard anything about Sissoko since he left Castle Greyskull..

RM should have the funds to go & buy the right sort of player, who will improve the team, not grasp at straws, because of the lack of funds afforded to him & I don't want to hear, the usual excuses as to the shambolic financial management of our club under the current board.

After playing in the academy for a couple of years and then going back to Portugal, England Under-21 player Eric Dier is now being courted by Chelsea according to the Daily Mail.

Was Moyes correct in overlooking the lad, or could it be another case of being too conservative and unwilling to take a risk?
