Blues retain interest in Marrone

Everton scouts were reportedly in attendance for Juventus's game against Sampdoria yesterday following up Roberto Martinez's apparent interest in Luca Marrone.

The 23-year-old was an unused substitute but there is continued speculation that the Blues are looking to take him on loan, something Juve were reticent to do earlier this summer, preferring to sell him for a fee of around €10m.

That would likely be prohibitive for Martinez unless he raises funds from selling a player of his own.

Really angers me the fact we don't even have enough coin to sign the lad permanently, at around 8 mil could be a great signing.

We need some one to flip a game on its head. We needed it on the weekend. a player to bring on and change the game... and we brought on Naismith.

He is a better player than he was last year but he still isn't the impact sub we need him to be. If this kid has the ability to create chances then it would be a waste to miss out on him.

I believe he took up a really good position in the middle of the bench and controlled it for 90 minutes. Agree Peter what a waste of time and cash

Yeah, there again Joe, this guy is pretty much a squad player, by all accounts, although he has been with the club, since he was about six years old. If he was really that good, I think he would be getting more regular starting positions. So, bearing that in mind, a loan deal, would be well the best option. If we were to splash £7M-£8M on him, and he turned out to be a 'chocolate teapot' where would we be?
When all said and done, not too many Italian players have hit it off in the Prem.

Maybe more should Derek, perhaps if we didn't play our game at 5000 miles an hour that suits no one but the Lampards and Gerrards of this world we'd have a better national side. There's loads of great Italian players but why would a Pirlo type come here if some yard dog like Nzonzi is just going to snap him in the first minute of the game just to let him know he's there

As a rule Italian players have done really well in the PL, just to name a few:

Di Canio, Zola, Di matteo, Carboni, Ravanelli, Vialli.

Just because he's not a regular starter for the best team in Italy, that doesn't mean he's not good enough. Let me remind you Juventus are one of Europe's elite clubs.

I agree though a loan with a view to a permanent signing is the way to go.
