Blues reject West Brom approach for Anichebe

So Everton have apparently rejected a 3.5 m bid for Anichebe from WBA ! Silly season well and truly under way!!

I would let them have Jelavic for that though at the moment...

The Daily Mail are saying we turned down a £3.5m offer for big Vic from WBA. FFS we could've bought Dave Whelan with that.

Anichebe is our best current option up front in my opinion. Sadly.

If I had the money from the sale to Manure I'd raid Chelsea for the likes of Essien, Lukaku, Ba, Bertrand & Moses. We need a bit of pace, power and balls in our team to offset the current apathy.

On the Dave Whelan scale Vic has to be worth at least £9 million.....

Don't tell me we are going to play hardball with the value of Anichebe and probably let Fellaini go for 70% of his value! What goes on in the minds of our great board of directors?

I would bit their hand off and get a deal done. Vic is a player who will never be anything but average and frustrate the fans.

I think had we played Vic in both our last games he would of actually scored 1, seeing as he always scores against WBA anyway, I think it's nuts to sell him, he's better than Kone, and younger.

How about swapping big Vic for Peter Odemwinge.

I don't understand the hate that some supporters harbor for Anichebe. He can be lazy at times and has disappointed over the years, but he was huge for us last season. Unless we have a replacement lined up, I wouldn't sell him. The thought of only having Jelavic, Kone, and Vellios as our first-choice strikers scares me.

If my memory serves me right, Vic has scored a couple against the Baggies in the past, which probably accounts for why they over-value him by a couple of mil.

John, I would hardly call it hate. I have always wanted Big Vic to become something and had high hopes for him. however reality is that he will never become a consistent goal scorer for us and is probably a championship striker at best. My only concern is that nobody else will be bought in which case I would rather keep him.

Jackie spot on. We've all had high hopes for Vic ever since he burst on the scene as a chubby 17 year old. Apart from his waistline he has really developed since then has he?

Given that we don't have any more useful strikers at the moment, I'd prefer to keep him.
He does offer something different to the others, last season he did seem to be coming out of his constant whining and started to give us a few goals... and at the moment... there's more chance of me winning the lottery than there is of Everton scoring (and I haven't even bought a ticket!!)

£3.5m ????? Come on West Brom, he's a proven 20 goals a career player! You'll have to offer at least half that for it to be a good deal for us!

If bale went for £86m surely the fall over kid is worth at least a tiny fraction of that.

I agree that Vic is probably our best striker right now so 3.5m is not going to cut it. That is about 4 percent of Bales fee which is absurd.

Why do clubs think they can take the piss and offer so little for our players? They seem to think we are so skint we'll take buttons for any of our players. Anichebe isn't brilliant but he's worth at least £5m when ya consider the price of other players.

big Vic wont be sold as we are not looking at any other forwards... simples. if he want and we only bought in an old Barry and an over prices McCarthy then we would be reliant on the two strikers we have all season....

Sky Sports say we are in talks to sell Vic for £6 million. Must be a striker coming in... I hope it’s Ba or Lukaku.

Big Vic should be in our team! He was exceptional last season and still Jelavic got in ahead of him.

Jelavic had a good pre-season, but now looks like he has lost it again. Big Vic should get a chance. Certainly ahead of Kone!!

If Kone is worth £6m, then Big Vic is worth at least £10m!

West Brom offering less for Vic than they're asking for a 32-year old Odemwingie, who's been frozen out of their team for six months.

Vic seems to be popular, according to 'sources' Stoke have now launched interest in him.

Personally, like the lad, but let's face it, he's been with us since he was 8 years old. I think if he was going to be a prolific goal scorer, we would have seen signs before now, unless he's a late developer.

Think, if we get a decent offer for him, we should go for it. Looking on the bright side, they must have someone lined up, otherwise, considering our dearth in the goal scoring department, would not be letting him go.

Jeez - about 2-3 years overdue if this actually happens! Really don't know why Moyes hung on to him so long. He's a big guy .......and that's about it on the footballing front.

The only similarity Victor has with Heskey is his colour. He has no respect with the toffeeweb mob, along with JH, Ossie and Hibbo. Why, if he is so bad, are other premier league teams in for him? He is our best and most effective striker by a mile at the moment. If Kone, at his age, is worth £6m then Victor is double that.
