Jordan Ayew targetted for January loan?

Would love to get him at Everton to help out Lukaku. I do not think Jelavic is up to it, and after watching Kone against City, I would tell him where to go.

I don't know much about him other than he is the son of Abedi Pele. His brother Andre is a useful player, who I remember playing in the world cup for Ghana. If he has any of their ability, he could be a good player for us.

Forget Ayew, get Vossen, Rhodes or Defoe!

I can't claim to know much about this player, but looking at his statistics, he has a very poor goal scoring record. We have Kone as back up for Lukaku so I really don't see the need to get another striker on loan.

If we are going to add another striker in January it should be a permanent signing, a young striker with potential.

Kone belongs to EFC and I am sure that he will be a big asset. He really upset us at the back when he was playing for Wigan and he scored quite a few goals for them during their last season in the Premier League.

When Lukaku eventually moves up to playing European football, it will be with Chelsea or some other money rich club. All we can do is take what we can from the lad while he is with us.

I would play Lukaku from the start and bring on Kone for the last half hour in away games. At home I would even try Lukaku with either Jelavic or Mirallas as a second striker. I'm looking forward to seeing Pienaar back and Lukaku or Kone getting some headed goals from Baines's crosses as, without Pienaar in the side, our left side is not so potent.

Great but, loans, loans loans............. loans can be great of course, but within moderation in order to build something, a few more of our loans should be perspective permanent buys. The issue being that when the summer comes up, we find ourselves still in need of 2 strikers.

The club have a surplus of £18 million in transfer fees and Mr Chairman has promised "every penny of incoming transfer money to Roberto"

As we've seen with Deulofeu, it's already looking like he'll be with us for at least 2 seasons, with comments from himself and Martinez. I suspect that could well turn permanent.

Barry is a loan, but he's also a free transfer at the end of it, and we'd never have been able to afford someone of Lukaku's ability, so I'm more than happy to see loans brought in that genuinely improve us or lead to the possibility of a permanent transfer in the future.

Martinez has been criticised for bringing in Kone and Alcaraz; I'd agree that as things stand, we'd be better off with the £8M in the bank, but then neither player has had chance to show what they're capable of.

Personally, I'd rather see Martinez take his time to fully assess the first team and youth team and decide what reinforcements he needs before looking at costly permanent transfers. With the World Cup coming up and many teams with massive squads due to their billionaire owners, it's likely we'll be able to get some bargains in January or the summer.

Wayne. Interesting and sensible post with a thought provoking and far sighted last sentence which hit upon something that had slipped from my radar. The billionaire boys taking a fancy to impressive World Cup players and being forced to offload surplus talent as a result. Hmmm.

Wayne, I don't know what makes you think Deulofeu will be a permanent Everton player — wishful thinking.

I'd say he is very much in the longer term plans of Barcelona, and secondly, I'd imagine he is getting a bit pissed off not getting enough of a look-in at Everton. I hope Martinez plays him from the start against Hull.

Steven..every player needs to prove his worth and if Del was as impressive as Rooney and Townsend when they were youngsters I'm sure that Martinez would use him. A new managers priority is getting points to justify his being employed and then to tinker as and when required. We have had a good start and 15 points from 8 games is satisfactory. If this were maintained we would have had a fantastic season. I can't see Martinez changing his team just yet except for perhaps using Pienaar from the start next week.

I'm sure Del boy will come good and be used more later this season.
