Landon Donovan is going nowhere

Claims that Everton would be bringing US international Landon Donovan back to Goodison Park on loan have been firmly rebutted, after LA Galaxy confirmed the midfielder will spend the next few weeks preparing for the new MLS season.

Galaxy head coach Bruce Arena has stated he will not sanction a Premier League return for Donovan, who was a big hit in two previous short-term stints with Everton.

“Our players aren't going anywhere,” Arena told the LA Galaxy podcast. “They had a full 11 months of playing and they need some time off.”

Donovan is more a David Moyes player to be honest. Not a Martinez type player.

I was pretty skeptical about it anyway. Love Landon, but I wouldn't want him taking one minute away from the Deulofeu I saw yesterday.

You have to ask yourself what improvement a 'temporary' injection of a 31-year-old would have on a squad that is performing so well at the moment.

Great professional but no longer needed here. Deulofeu and Mirallas are both better options on the right

Not even news, had forgotten all about him, don't need him, he's not good enough to get into the team and would have added very very little.

I'd be more interested in Dempsey who ,I read, is angling for a Prem loan spot. Ideal support/cover for Lukaku. A kind of Naismith with talent.

He posted a picture on his facebook account of him walking the streets of Liverpool. I think he may be keen for a move.

Always surprised me that he went back to Galaxy after his first loan spell here. There would have been a lot of takers then and what is the point in going back to the MLS after playing well here. Bizarre
