Craig #113, don't judge a player by who's scouting him. It's often the ones playing well at a lower level who are given a chance that step up and perform – Tim Cahill, for example.

Looks like a little firecracker – fast, composed and lethal. Looks like he knows how to run into gaps too. For little fella heads the ball quite nice and his quite feisty with the big defenders.

Worth loaning for a year if Spartak don't want to sell

On the "Summer Striker" thread, everyone seems to believe that we buy/loan our next Number 9 from a Premier League club. I think there's a good chance it will be somebody completely off everybody's radar.

Roberto will uncover a hidden gem or two, for a couple million each.... and then we will purchase Big Rom.

It's hard to speculate on the striker situation. Arsenal couldn't live with Lukaku. Can we live without him? At £25m we may have to.

Right now, we have Naismith and Kone with two big guys on loan. Will Kone make a full recovery? What's the situation with Traore?

On top of all this, we have the Barry and Deulofeu business. So many things to be ironed out before Martinez is able to list his priorities in the right order.

Can he reduce his shopping bill by shuffling the pack? Baines to midfield etc. Can we resist offers for Barkley and Coleman? Who might we bring in on loan? The questions continue to mount and, personally, I'm happy to leave the answers with Martinez till this season has run its course.

If we could bring the three loan guys back next year in one way or another, bring in Colbeck on a free from Sunderland, then in my mind our next two priorities would be extra cover at Striker and for Coleman. If RM could wheel and deal those then we should be able to buy Lukaku.

All that depending on nobody leaving obviously.

You are so right with what you say as far as answering questions is concerned, and yes there are a few! I think, without stating the obvious, that everything will hinge on that all important CL spot, which is obviously in our own hands!

This will almost certainly guarantee extra funds in the kitty, so maybe, just maybe, we will have our cake and eat it too! I would certainly concentrate on trying to secure Rom on a permanent, and compliment that with a few good signings, because the rigors of CL games, Prem and the two cups will require cover for all departments, with the inevitable injuries and God forbid some players, lack of form etc.

We have got to try and gain as many points between now and the end of the season, starting with Sunderland on Saturday, a game which should be treated with utmost respect!

I know nothing about this lad and couldn't care less about who else is scouting him. However I do object to bringing in a striker who will disappear every other January, come back in March and complain that he only scored 1 goal for the rest of the season be used he is knackered. I'd rather we spend what little we have I a European based striker.

The number two strikers are already on board, Naismith and Kone and may well take that leap to being considered as first choice. Roberto has said young Conor will be with the first team squad next year too. Plus,Stubbsy is saying there are more options due to graduate soon.

Listening to everything Rom says I guess he's going to be off, either back to Chelski, or to pastures new. What we need to make that step up to challengers for the title, rather than the top four, is a solid gold finisher, not speculation on an untried unit.

Unfortunately that might well mean all of the budget going on one name. I don't think that is too likely, Bill and Robbie being highly aware of the financial restraints. In which case perhaps a player who has experienced the Prem and prospered will be the answer.

Bony? Remy? Ba? Hows about Lambert? (I know he's a red) Benteke? The possibles are there without going to the continent and spending on players who may not make the grade over here. What ever the answer is it will be provided by Señor Martinez and not some money grubbing agent, trying to score a little wedge of us.

I think it's pointless speculating until we know where we finish in league. Hopefully 4th but that will determine both who comes in and goes.
