Paul. and all that will probably come to £25 mil tops. A drop in the ocean, when you see the spend from Chelsea, City, Liverpool, Arsenal, Man U and spurs. And were expected to stay up with them. £25mil don't seem that much.

Just look how our injuries set us back. Without them we would have finished 4th or maybe higher for sure. So I think search lower divisions as you're probably fed up hearing. But there are very good players around those leagues that I think Roberto could make even better. So more, rather than less I'd go for. Bigger squad to cover injured. Rather than one affordable maybe 14 plus striker.

You can't build for the future with loan deals every season. Their only a stopgap. So that's why I say go lower league, their affordable and ours to build on. Just remember Jag, Cahill, Lescott etc. didn't do too bad did they? There out there so Roberto get looking.

Jack, from where do you get £25m? I believe we get something like £90m from league finish, Sky, highlights etc: or have I been seriously mislead? Obviously all of this won't be spent but surely more than £25m especially as we're still supposed to have a decent kitty from the last transfer window.

On topic, I don’t know much about this dude but what I do know is:

Liverpool were interested last season. He is one of the best defenders/players in the Belgium league (doesn’t say much but Lukaku came from there). He is a pacy ball-playing defensive player.

Strong, pacey, decent on the ball and relatively cheap - PERFECT replacement for Distin, in my opinion!

I know anyone can look good on youtube but he looks full of stamina, pacy and strong with 2 good feet.

Could be the Gareth Barry stand-in.

As I understand it, the £86M is including the TV money we knew about from the start of the season. The only 'new' money is the £17M odd merit cash for the 5th place finish... plus whatever we've made in matchday takings over what we budgeted for... plus however many televised matches we got above bare minimum. We haven't just been handed £86M we weren't expecting that can go into a transfer pot.

Plus Martinez has already stated that the tv money is going on building on site accommodation at Finch Farm for players so the tv money is already spent. All that is probably left is the money left over from the Fellaini and Anichebe sales plus maybe a little from the 5th placed finish. We have to have over £20M to spend as Martinez is saying that he would be willing to pay over £20M for Lukaku and it would be worth it

You can build a 60-flat housing scheme for £7M so the training complex isn't going to cost that much. From all the financial information I've read it feels like we may have around £35M to spend, speculative I know but it's there or there abouts.

I'm a little concerned with the number of African players we are being linked with in terms of the Africa's Cup of Nations. This tends to be disruptive to consistency and if competing in the Europa then what?

The 2015 competition starts in January where a smaller squad tends to take a dip.

Terry Davies. Yes everything you've added together might come to £90M. But you don't really think that money will all be spent on transfers do you?. If we get 25-30 we'll be doing well. But I could be wrong. Lets hope so.

I like the look of Kouyate. Him or Martins Indi could take over from Distin and form a very solid partnership with Stones. Think Sylvain may have one more season at top top level in him so maybe this is one for next summer.

Worries me a bit that the first "highlight" they show of him on YouTube is of him missing a header!

His agent has said in the last half hour that he's already in talks with Arsenal, West Ham, CSKA and I think it was Besiktas or Fener or the other Turkish team I can't remember the name of. I'd forget this one.

James, I wouldn't rule anything out on that basis. Traore was basically on his way to West Ham till we stepped in at the very last moment. It maybe that we have no firm interest in the player but if we do then its not over till he's signed on the line... or maybe even after.

It always irritates me when I read comments from fans who are already making excuses for this board of ours. We must have a much bigger transfer budget ready for next season and I for one do not want to see lame ducks sitting on the bench taking wages for nothing.

We must be able to BUY at least two ’proper’ top quality players, one of which must be a proven striker. Then Martinez can weave his magic and get us three more decent loan players in the meanwhile off loading Vellios, Junior and possibly Gueye to lower the wage bill. If we can possibly hang on to Deulofeu and Traore for a further season’s loan then we will not need as many new loan players.

Without any extra revenue we have already more than £20 million profit over the past couple of transfer windows. Surely we can raise between £30 and £40 million to really give our club some impetus and excite the fans.

The media are cheeky enough to have Martinez amongst the list of prospective new managers in line for the ’Spurs post. They really believe that Totterington are a bigger club than ours. They should take a look at the honours list and amount of seasons we have played in the top flight!

It's all good and well RM bringing loan players in, especially if they have the impact the three did this year. But let's not forget there is a loan fee and the wage payments either full or part that we will have to pay. I do think RM will bring in some loans again for next season.

I agree with previous comments, our injuries this season were our biggest hindrance, when you consider Gibson & Kone's setbacks alone. The curse of the 'twanging' hamstring to our squad this season has been a major concern to me and hopefully something is being done to eliminate it.

I think we need to bring at least 6 players in, 1, maybe 2 in defence, 2 ideally 3 in midfield and 2 up front minimum, as well as possibly another goalkeeper. If you look at pretty much every team, who have competed in the Europa League over recent years, it has had a significant impact on their premier league performances. We have a relatively small squad, so I think we need the investment in the team.

I have become far more upbeat in the running of the club, the board, (and I very rarely say this), deserve credit, especially for getting the debt down massively. That coupled with the extra TV money, European revenue, player sales, RM's ability & contacts (and HOPEFULLY BK), will see us having a competitive transfer kitty available for RM. I would like to think he is going to have at least £30 mill.
