Emenike seemingly out of reach

Everton are believed to be in the hunt with Tottenham Hotspur and favourites Manchester City for Fenerbahce's Nigerian marksman, Emmanuel Emenike.

KickOffNigeria report that City lead the chase for the 27 year-old who is expected to lead that country's forward line at the World Cup next month and that the Turkish giants won't be tempted to sell unless the bidding reaches a fee of around €20m.

Assuming Everton genuinely are interested, Emenike is apparently only interested in moving to a team who can offer him Champions League football next season which would effectively rule the Blues out.

IMO, it would be better if we actually got a striker with Premier League experience...

Or at least one from Spain.

I agree about Premier League experience but why the assumption that a striker from Spain will do the business?

Soldado disproves that theory about Spanish strikers somewhat?

£26 million to score the odd penalty...

You are never going to get a gem at good price if you only shop in the Premier League though. Prices are highly inflated and they already have huge wages before they even start asking for a pay rise.

Everybody talks about Spain but surely somebody who has done well in Germany should have the attributes to make it over here.

Seems like Sky's money is out the bag in Turkey then, I think we're going to see a lot of shite players very soon in the Prem with inflated price tags.

There are much better strikers out there, particularly for that money!

If we are going to spend approx. £15-20m then I would rather we took a punt on Lukaku or Bony who are both proven in our league.

There are good players all over Europe and beyond. For every Soldado there is an (early RS career) Torres or Aguero. From the highlights show the Bundesliga is a very competitive environment with fast paced attacking play. There is also France, Spain, Portugal, Italy, Holland and even Belgium. We need to look beyond the Premier League where prices are inflated.
