Rival interest from Portugal in Batshuayi

Considering the home runs that Swansea (Michu, Bony) have hit the last two years if they were interested in Batshuayi then we should be too. I have heard the man's name before but I am unfamiliar with his game. Given he's a striker which just so happens to be our biggest need he could be a huge win for us.

Looks as though he is off to FC Oporto to replace Jackson Martinez (no relation to the hallowed one I presume!).

My feeling is we should go hell bent for leather to sign Lukaku. He's already been with us, has his critics but scored some superb goals, developed his general play under Roberto's tutelage, has acknowledged this to the media on his World Cup duties and, like Ross, has his best years to come.

Okay, we can't offer the Champions League (yet) and there will be salary issues but these are just starting points for negotiations.

So get in there negotiating team and give us a summer which will inspire.

Atletico Madrid are kings when it comes to picking forwards:

Torres, Aguero, Forlan, Costa.

They have just signed another one as well Angel Correa, the next Aguero.

Never heard of him, but a check on Wikipedia shows a nice goalscoring record.

I think we should change these ridiculous rumours into something productive.

We really are desperate for an injection of goals. If Bobby decides this kid can provide them, then best we get a move on as the fee of £7m is already set. You can’t buy much in the way of forwards nowadays for this type of money so ’tick tock’ let’s get a move on.

Also, I agree with the shout of going hell bent to get Lukaku but his wages plus the offer of CL will probably be too big a gap for us to be able to bridge!

After the World Cup, there will be teams all over Rom and his value will probably soar.

I think Batshuayi would be an excellent addition at a sensible (€8m buyout clause) price. He has strength, pace and knows how to finish. As the highlights clip shows, he can score from range as well as in the six-yard box. He would be up against a better standard of defender here, but he has the goalscoring instinct and is still young enough to improve.

I don't think we should be intimidated by the other clubs linked to him as we can offer Premier League football! I could live with Michy, Traore, Naismith and Kone as our options for a loan forward next season. Each brings something a bit different to the table.

Don't forget the schedule though lads - the 5:00, 8:00 and 11:00 pm kick-off's can weed out the weak amongst us. Go too hard too soon and you can find yourself snoozing in the chair by the second half of the 8:00 pm game.

We seem to have been linked with Michy, for nearly a year now, since Roberto arrived at least!

I would therefore think that, at the price being mentioned, it is almost a no-brainer, to go for him!

I appreciate that these video clips can make a player look like a world beater, but he seems to have a better first touch than Lukaku, and seems to be able to score with either feet and the odd header too!

With a bit of luck we may get him and Lukaku too!

Either way, I implicitly trust Roberto to make the right decision for us, I just hope the Board equal the fan's trust, and give Bobby the funds and the backing to get these much needed recruits to bolster our wafer thin squad!

With the other clubs supposedly interested in him all being in the CL next season, not sure how much chance we have of landing him.

Then again, if we can really get him for less than 10m then that would be a fantastic achievement given he's only 20.
