Atletico interest in Lukaku cools
Long believed to be interested in taking the Belgian striker off Chelsea's hands in part-exchange for Diego Costa, Atletico Madrid are apparently looking elsewhere for a striker after Romelu Lukaku's iffy performances in the first two games of the World Cup in Brazil.
That should be a boost for Everton boss Roberto Martinez who has made no secret of his desire to sign the 21-year-old on a permanent deal.
Lukaku has other clubs chasing him, however, among them Wolfsburg and Tottenham if reports are to be believed. And Belgium are still involved in Brazil, of course, where the ex-Anderlecht man has already left his mark, striking an impressive winner against the USA.
