Atsu negotiations break down
Everton's proposed loan move for winger Christian Atsu has stalled over concerns from Chelsea that the Ghanaian won't get enough playing time at Goodison Park this season.
That's the claim of Darren Lewis of The Mirror who tweeted today that negotiations between the two clubs for the 22 year-old's proposed season-long switch have broken down.
Atsu appeared destined to join the Blues late last week when it was reported he had given the thumbs up to the move but there has not thus far been any agreement on the terms of his release.
Further reports suggest that Everton were unwilling to agree to a clause in the deal whereby Chelsea could recall the player in January while others claim the Blues were only willing to loan him until the end of the year whereupon he would almost certainly depart for the Africa Cup of Nations.
