Sampdoria 'open talks' with Eto'o
Updated Picking up on reports in Italy suggesting that Everton's veteran Cameroonian striker could end his stay at Goodison Park early after being lined up by Sampdoria, the Daily Star report that the Serie A club have opened talks.
Eto'o has made 14 appearances for the Blues this season, scoring three times since his in August and this report in Football Italia suggests West Ham are also interested in his services.
The Star claim that Eto'o is after more games than he is currently getting at Everton and that Valencia are also interested and willing to match his £2.3m a year salary.
The Mail put it more definitively, saying that Eto'o has been offered £1.7m a year by Sampdoria, although there is no mention of a fee due to Everton who hold his contract for the next 18 months.
