Spurs' enquiry for Mirallas rejected

The Telegraph report that Everton have knocked back an approach from Tottenham for Kevin Mirallas, with Roberto Martinez informing the London club that he is not for sale.

The Belgian has stalled on the offer of a new contract at Goodison since last summer and admitted last week that he will wait until the end of this season before deciding his future. His current deal expires in 18 months' time, although Andy Hunter in The Guardian reports that the Blues have an option to extend it by another year.

In the meantime, this latest report claims that Spurs have enquired about the 27 year-old, while there are also suggestions that he is also wanted by Atletico Madrid and Borussia Dortmund.

Martinez is not looking to sell such a key asset midway through the season but he is mindful that keeping hold of Mirallas long-term will likely depend on where Everton finish in the Premier League this season and how they fare in the Europa League.
