Blues to release Eto'o on performance-related terms

Sky Sport Italia are claiming that the deadlock between Samuel Eto'o and Everton has been broken, with the Blues agreeing to release the striker in exchange for a performance-related clause on the deal with Sampdoria.

Eto'o has had an agreement in place with the Serie A side for almost a week and was hoping to complete his move away from Goodison on Tuesday.

Everton initially stalled on agreeing to his move but now, if these latest reports are correct, will acquiesce to a free transfer that is dependent on the number of goals and appearances the Cameroonian racks up with Samporia.
