Konoplyanka likely to see out Dnipro contract

Updated Yevhen Konoplyanka, a reported Everton target this month, is now likely to stay at Dnipro until the summer and not seal a move to AS Roma before the transfer deadline.

Just two days after sources insisted he was staying with Dnipro, the Ukrainian club announced an agreement with Roma for the transfer of the winger. Reports from France subsequently suggested, however, that Konoplyanka had asked for time to think about his future after making known his desire to move to the Premier League.

Now his father is indicating that Konoplyanka has decided to see out his current contract in Ukraine and will look to move on as a free agent at the end of the season.

The 25-year-old saw a deadline-day move to Liverpool fall apart at the last minute a year ago and he is being linked with both Tottenham and the Blues this month. It is not clear, however, just how strong the interest is from either club but speculation late last night by Mail Online had it that he would prefer Spurs.
