Pato speculation continues
Despite Roberto Martinez's assertion that he is not looking to replace Samuel Eto'o, reports in Italy continue to link Alexandre Pato with a move to Goodison.
SportItalia first raised the suggestion that Everton had made inquiries about the former AC Milan star and journalist Alfredo Pedulla tweeted again yesterday that negotiations are ongoing between the 25 year-old's current club Corinthians, Pato's representatives and Blues officials.
Pato rose to stardom in Milan before his career was derailed by a series of hamstring injuries and he returned to his native Brazil in 2013.
He was loaned out to Sao Paolo last year and is scheduled to remain there until December but his parent club could jump at the chance to get all or more of the forward's salary off their wage bill should Everton's interest be real.
