Molde balked at staggered payments for Nyland

A report in Norway claims that a deadline-day deal to bring à˜rjan Nyland to Everton from Molde fell through because the two clubs couldn't agree payment terms for the 24 year-old goalkeeper.

Aftenposten say that the Norwegian club rejected the Blues' offer to pay the reputed £3m to £4m fee in installments.

Neither Nyland nor his agent would confirm the negotiations and and there is no confirmation from Molde that they even held talks with Everton either.

"I give no comments related to individual players," said Molde director Tarje Nordstrand Jacobsen. "What has been discussed or not remains here, in-house. I can neither confirm nor deny that we have been in dialogue with Everton."

There is believed to have been contact between the two clubs and the move could be revived in the summer if Everton are still interested.
