Blues face competition for Championship starlets
Everton are being linked with summer moves for Charlton's Joe Gomez and Leeds United's Alex Mowatt but they won't be alone.
The Blues have their eye on Gomez, a 17 year-old centre half according to Metro, who claim that he "looks to be one of the finest young players in the country", but both Newcastle United and favourites Arsenal are also said to be in the running.
Mowatt, meanwhile, was reported to be a Roberto Martinez target a few months ago, but Hull City have joined a race already thought to also involve Liverpool and West Ham for the 20 year-old midfielder.
Leeds are hoping Mowatt will extend his current contract beyond the two seasons that remain but their off-the-field turmoil may keep him stalling, particularly while Premier League suitors are keeping tabs on his situation.
