Everton close in on Roberto
Speculation linking Everton with a move for Sergi Roberto is mounting again as the summer transfer window approaches, although it appears to be a circular report originating in England with The Mirror and ending with Metro via Spanish transfer gossip site Fijaches.net.
A web translation of the Spanish report cites The Mirror as saying that the 23 year-old has been "given the green light" to sign for the Blues a year after Barcelona turned down an approach from Roberto Martines.
The midfielder has seen his first-team chances restricted at the Nou Camp this season and, the reports claim, he could be allowed to move on this summer.
It's not clear if the rumoured deal is a permanent move or loan arrangement but none of the sources involved have a good track record where transfer stories are concerned.
