Stones-to-Chelsea rumours start early
It's likely to be a recurring story throughout the summer but reports from Italy, and picked up now by MailOnline, are already suggesting that Chelsea are planning a bid for John Stones.
With Stones established in the Everton first team and widely predicted to become a future England regular, speculation linking him with a move to a top-four club is going to be par for course for months and probably years to come.
Sky Italia journalist Gianluca di Marzio, who has a chequered record over recent transfer windows (he claimed Martinez bid €13m for Alessio Cerci and was after Atletico Madrid forward, Daniel Aquino last summer but was correct about the Blues signing Romelu Lukaku and Samuel Eto'o), claims that Jose Mourinho has pinpointed the 20-year-old as a key target and that negotiations are underway with Everton.
