Blues won't be held to ransom over Lennon

Presumably passing on the impression they get from inside Everton, the Echo claim that the club will not pursue their interest in making Aaron Lennon a permanent signing if Tottenham's asking price is as high as the £9m reported in the press recently.

The winger has made a positive impact at Goodison since arriving on loan from White Hart Lane at the beginning of February and Roberto Martinez likely views him as a useful addition to the side if the price is right.

At 28 and with just one year left on his contract, the Blues feel that the prices being bandied about in the media for Lennon are significantly higher than they are prepared to pay.
