Blues linked with Owls goalkeeper

Everton are again being linked with a move for Sheffield Wednesday 'keeper Kieren Westwood despite Roberto Martinez's insistence that he will not be looking for reinforcements for that position this summer.

The 30 year-old was a reported target of former Blues boss David four years ago but nothing came of the speculation.

Now, having kept 17 clean sheets for the Owls and earned a place in the PFA Sky Bet Championship Team of the Year, the Irish international is likely to be the subject of plenty of stories linking him with a move away from Hillsborough and Football League World "understand" that the Blues are interested.

Martinez admitted in January that he was on the lookout for a long-term replacement for Tim Howard but has since back-tracked, at least publicly, on that assertion.
