McCarthy waiting on new contract talks

01/06/2015  Comments (0)  jump
James McCarthy is "considering his future" according to reports as his wait for negotiations to begin over a new contract at Everton goes on.

The Daily Mail are the latest outlet to suggest that the Irish midfielder is concerned at the fact that he has yet to be offered new terms at Goodison while other players like Ross Barkley, Seamus Coleman and John Stones have all signed better deals in the past year.

McCarthy insisted in an interview a few weeks ago, however, that he is unfazed by his contract situation and, with three years left on his current deal, there is plenty of time.

That hasn't stopped tabloid reports suggesting he is unsettled, however, with the Mail suggesting that the likes of Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool could exploit any rift between player and club by making their interest in the 24-year-old known.
