Everton are apparently rivalling Norwich City and Watford in their interest in Manchester City striker John Guidetti who is out of contract this summer.

The Swedish international joined City as a promising 16-year-old in 2008 when Sven-Goran Eriksson was in charge but has yet to make a senior appearance for the Citizens.

Instead, he has accumulated experience with a succession of loan moves, most notably at Feyenoord where he scored 20 goals in 23 games and at Celtic where he notched eight in 24 appearances. He spent a period on loan at Stoke last year, playing six times.

A return to Scotland or the Netherlands with those two afore-mentioned clubs has been mooted in the past but speculation now has it that the Blues are vying with two of the Premier League's newcomers for his services.

Trabsonspor, meanwhile, have reportedly invited him to Turkey to discuss the possibility of signing for them when his deal at City expires next month.
