Deulofeu links grow stronger
The prospect of Gerard Deulofeu making a return to Everton, possibly on a permanent basis, remains a hot rumour, with suggestions that the Spaniard's agent was at Finch Farm today to discuss a deal.
The story appears to have originated from an uncorroborated source on Twitter but has been picked up by the Liverpool Echo's gossip page which is not normally given to spreading such specific speculation.
That, combined with the Echo's unusually persistent profiles of the ex-Blues winger over the past week or so, has many believing this is one link that has legs.
Deulofeu spent last season on loan at Sevilla but was unable to hold down a first-team place at the Europa League winners and is unlikely to return there.
Reports in Spain suggested yesterday that the 21-year-old wasn't likely to be at Barcelona next season and that the Premier League was his likely destination.
