Martinez aiming to land both Deulofeu and Lennon

16/06/2015  Comments (0)  jump
Everton's interest in Aaron Lennon would not necessarily end should the club get a deal for Gerard Deulofeu across the line this month.

Tony Barrett in The Times and Paul Joyce in The Express report that Roberto Martinez is still looking to bring Lennon in from Tottenham Hotspur even if, as seems more and more likely, Deulofeu signs on a permanent basis.

Lennon is entering the final year of his contract at White Hart Lane and Martinez is likely to play the long game by pushing further negotiations out until the end of the transfer window in the hope of getting a better deal.

If there is truth to the Times' claim, it could tally with suggestions in the Belgian media that Deulofeu is seen by Martinez as a potential replacement for Kevin Mirallas who has made noises about possibly moving on in search of Champions League football and is being eyed by Monaco.
