Blues monitor Topal contract situation
Everton are reportedly keeping tabs on the outcome of Turkish midfielder Mehmet Topal's talks over a contract extension at Fenerbahce.
talkSPORT claim that both the Blues and Liverpool are "ready to pounce" for the 29 year-old should be decide not to extend his stay with the Istanbul giants.
Quite apart from his age, the fact that he would represent yet another defensive midfielder at Goodison makes this an extremely unlikely story.
