Blues linked again with move for Cagliari defender

26/06/2015  Comments (0)  jump
Reports in Italy suggest that Everton could capitalise on Cagliari's recent demotion to Serie B by picking up defender Davide Astori this summer.

The 28 year-old spent a time on loan with Roma last season but the Capital club have apparently passed on taking up the option signing him permanently for 5m.

That has opened the door for potential suitors like Sunderland, Schalke 04 and Everton.

This is the third time Astori has been linked with the Blues –David Moyes was reportedly interested in signing him during the January 2013 transfer window and he was also mooted as a deadline-day target for Roberto Martinez the following August.
