Martinez plots move for Byram

29/06/2015  Comments (0)  jump
Everton are being linked with a swoop for Leeds United right back Sam Byram.

The Guardian are the latest media outlet to suggest that Roberto Martinez is a big admirer of the 21-year-old who has already made 108 appearances for the Yorkshire club.

Any move for Byram would be with strengthening the Blues' options at right back where Tony Hibbert is reaching the end of his career.

First-choice starter in that position, Seamus Coleman, is a reported target of Manchester United but Everton will rebuff any approach from Louis van Gaal for the Irishman.

Subsequent reports have suggested that Leeds will ask as much as 8m for Byram despite his age and lack of top-level experience.
