Everton monitoring Inter's Shaqiri

Uncorroborated speculation suggests that Roberto Martinez is weighing up a move for Swiss international Xherdan Shaqiri.

Following talk of a link between Everton and the 23-year-old forward a few days ago that was found to be baseless, the Daily Mail claim that the Blues are indeed looking to sound out Inter Milan about his availability.

Shaqiri joined the Serie A side from Bayern Munich after the World Cup last year following weeks of speculation suggesting he was bound for Liverpool but he has failed to set the world alight at the Italian club.

Although Roberto Mancini stated last week that Shaqiri has a place in his plans, the Mail argue that finances may dictate otherwise.

The player himself recently insisted, when asked if was leaving his current club: No, no, I'm staying at Inter.
