Ligue 1 an unlikely destination for Mirallas

A report in France has linked Kevin Mirallas with a move to the French league in January but an ex-Premier League director of football says it's unlikely any club apart from Paris St Germain could afford him.

France Football have recently suggested that both Monaco and Marseille are interested in signing the unsettled Belgian and Le Phocéen, a site dedicated to the latter club, contacted Damien Comolli to get his take.

Formerly at Liverpool and Tottenham, Comolli says that Marseille are really in need of an out-and-out striker and, in any case, Mirallas's wages and transfer fee would likely be too high for either club so soon after the renewal of his contract at Goodison Park.

Mirallas hinted recently that he might be forced to look for a move away from Everton in the next transfer window if he wasn't getting regular first-team action. Currently, the form of the likes of Gerard Deulofeu and Arouna Kone is keeping the 28-year-old out of the starting line-up.
