Everton resist Moyes move for Jagielka in Kone deal

| Tuesday, 09 August 2016  0 Comment  [Jump to last]
Phil Jagielka has emerged as a potential component of a deal to being Lamine Kone to Everton as speculation continues that the Ivorian defender could be Goodison bound.

The Blues are in the process of completing a £12m move for Ashley Williams as they look to fill the void left by John Stones's departure for Manchester City and reports suggest that they want to add Kone from Sunderland as well.

David Moyes is apparently reluctant to sanction Kone's transfer until he has a replacement lined up and his former skipper at Goodison Park could fit the bill but the indications are that Everton have rejected the idea.

Moyes signed Jagielka from Sheffield United in 2007 and the son-to-be-34-year-old has gone on to make over 250 Premier League appearances for the Blues.
