Everton gazump West Brom in Slimani tussle

| Thursday, 11 August 2016  0 Comment  [Jump to last]
Everton have eclipsed a €15m bid from West Bromwich Albion for striker Islam Slimani according to A Bola in Portugual

The newspaper claims that the Blues have come in with a €20m offer for the 28-year-old Algerian who was linked heavily with a move to Goodison Park during the January transfer window before Roberto Martinez signed Oumar Niasse.

A Bola's claim differs from that made by Record in the same country, however, who reported that both Swansea City and Albion had submitted €20m bids which apparently fall short of the Lisbon club's €30m valuation.

Slimani has been attracting plenty of attention on the Continent with an impressive scoring record of a goal every two games both for Sporting and his country over the past three or four years.
