Everton have reportedly had a bid for winger Cengiz Under rejected by AS Roma.
Football Italia and Tutto Mercato Web, both transfer gossip sites in that country with dubious track records, were claiming that the Blues' £24m offer had been knocked back, with the Serie A side holding out for more.
Under, 21, is a Turkish international who has been with Roma for the past two seasons, scoring 10 times in 50 league appearances. He also has five goals in 18 international games.

Does anyone know if he has played any other positions?

I've not seen much of Under but when I have seen him he looks extremely quick and with a decent left foot able to score from range. Very young still but I think our only way of getting top class players is going to be buying them aged 20-23 (rough edges and all) and then developing and coaching them to their potential.
Under and Traore could both be interesting options though if there's any truth at all in the Malcolm rumours that is the one that would excite me the most.

Great model I have ultimate faith in Brands and Silvas recruitment even though I dont rate Mina the rest have done well.
Onwards and upwards!

Hopefully a proven clinical striker deal is being negotiated by MB and his team.

His stats are decent for a player his age, 1 in 5 at domestic level and 1 in 3 at international.
I continue to be miffed by those who repeatedly shout "another winger!"
For m it is an essential position where we need another high quality player. We have Richarlison, we have Bernard. There are question marks over Lookman. The rest are gash, and even Bernard struggles for goals.
Other thoughts: Maybe Silva still sees a striker in Richarlison.
Maybe Silva sees a more central role for Bernard, especially should Siggy ever get injured.
Also, we need options on the bench. Having young, direct players with pace and a goal threat to come off the bench would improve us no end.
So I do expect a wide forward to come in this summer.

At least one person up-thread has expressed doubts as to whether Turkish players can thrive in the Premiership; but perhaps Cengiz Khan?

You reckon South Korean players are up for PL football? You'd proably say no, but Son is one of the best performers in the League.
Egyptians? Again, you'd say know but that Salah lad ain't doing too badly.
Also on here were told players from the Scottish league just aren't up to it, like those 2 Van Dijk and Robinson, just ain't worth the risk.
Yeah, what we need are players with 'premier league experience'...like Walcott.

Would look ordinary challeging top six Premiership defenders. Compared to their pace, physicality and organisation you can minus a yard from his game. Further, nothing suggests that he has the creativity that is required to turn or boss a game. He is young though so maybe in a few years.
Has potential but as we saw last season, potential doesn't get results, or save under pressure managers.
We need someone who the top six find a nightmare to negotiate on a saturday afternoon. At 24 Million better off keeping Vlasic.
