Everton were fined £50,000 for their part in the on-field brawl caused by Curtis Jones at the end of the last Goodison derby.
The official charge was for "failing to control their players" after the Liverpool player launched an unprecedented attack on Abdoulaye Doucoure for what he presumably thought was an unreasonable display of hubris in celebration of James Tarkowski's 98th-minute stunner that had denied the Reds 2 points.
Liverpool were fined £65,000 while their manager, Arne Slot. was given a 2-match ban and also fined £70,000 by an independent Football Association commission after accepting the charge.
Liverpool assistant coach Sipke Hulshoff was also banned for two games and fined £7,000.
Slot was seen exchanging words with one of the assistant referees before shaking hands with referee Michael Oliver, who seemed to react immediately to something he had said and showed him a red card. Hulshoff was also sent off.
Slot, who was unable to speak to the media after the match because of his red card, later voiced his frustration over the amount of stoppage time played, after 5 minutes were initially signalled.

I read the same report as Brian I guess because that said Everton had the bigger fine but if they got the bigger fine I am happy but believe 50k was outrageous for celebrating scoring a goal while a vicious attack from the back has been dealt with by a fine. should have been a ban.

Go watch a Wigan v St Helens game, then you would see a brawl.
The reds cant stand not getting all their own way, that was the problem.

I wonder how much ice hockey players should be fined in comparison then?
'and in sports news - a game broke out during the fight tonight'

We need an independent body that can fine those twats for their hopeless management and money grabbing tactics.

But then, as Euripides wrote, quoted by Cicero, and reiterated by Shakespeare, that phrase of the deepest cosmic profundity still applies down the ages: “Kopites are gobshites”.

Busybody 2: "Well, if you look at their most recent accounts, they'd be in breach of PSR if we doubled it."
Busybody 1: "Let's double it."
Busybody 2: "Agreed."
Busybody 1: "Six-point deduction."
Busybody 2: "When should we announce it?"
Busybody 1: "Wait until next season – maybe around Christmas? No way the promoted sides will be as crap as Ipswich et al."
Busybody 2: "Yeah whatever, come on... I wanna watch the second half of Liverpool v Newcastle! COYR!!!!"

Yes, Doucoure was very stupid but it was the RS players all piling in. Not that I wasn't proud of Everton players going in to back their team mates up.

It was alleged that Slot said whilst shaking the referees hand, "If we dont win the league, Ill fucking blame you.” Instead, Slot asserts that he in fact said: "If we dont win the league, I will have you to thank for that." The FA maintained that Slots language and words were as reported by the match officials.
However, the FA argued that this discrepancy didnt make a material difference to the sanction, in any event, given the words used still constituted Slot acting in an improper manner, and Slot accepts the same. It should be noted that Slot does not dispute stating ‘fucking disgrace to the assistant referee.”
In addition, Hulshoff accepted his charge but wanted to clarify the language he used. He advised that “the foul language used was not directed at Mr Oliver personally, contrary to what is contained in his official report. I would like to clarify what I said to Mr Oliver was that the resulting melee between both sets of players was because of the ‘shit decisions during the match. I wish to make this point clear to Mr Oliver I would not want him to think I insulted him personally.”
Hmmm... so who was making the 'shit decisions' if it wasn't Oliver?

The fact that they genuinely believed they were hard done by just tells us something we already know about our neighbours, and that Artetas Arsenal, have really let themselves down because it was clear that the pressure was getting to Liverpool, and especially their manager, until they inexplicably lost at home to West Ham.

I'd love to piss on their chips at Anfield too. Twat them and spend the next few weeks listening to their squeals - Always comedy gold.
Slot is every inch the c**t Klop was.
Talk about not liking it up 'em

Jones should be given a longer ban for his incitement in the incident and Slots interpretation of what was said is totally different to that of Oliver. A great example of honesty and integrity from a manager.
