The Saints playing mostly on the front foot with some lively new youngsters in the team, threatening, but unable to pull off the could de gras needed to actually score.
The Mancs look dangerous going forward... be just typical for them to wangle a jammy go-ahead goal.

Ooo... penalty call against Dalot on Dibling inside the box!
It was right on the line
Cameron Archer... Saved by Onana. Poor.

Sorry to piss on yer chips, Soren, but not so — even with Saints losing by 3, their GD is –7.
We are –8 and still bottom.

Look away now, Rob Halligan.
Brilliant strike by Harvey Barnes to turn it around for the Skunk Maggots at Wolves.
Big club? … Hmmm.

Shame, I thought Wolves were the better team.
I can't see them in the Bottom 3 much longer.

Harvey Barnes with the second-best goal of the weekend. Still trying to forget the best.
Commentators just had to mention Steve Bruce and the skunks came storming back!
And now I have the Bond theme music stuck in my head.

In better news, there seem to be 4 or 5 really shite teams at the bottom of the league.

4 games in and I'm already looking for teams to lose. Great news: Newcastle leading at Wolves.
That's where we're at.

Gordon is Neymar level for rolling around after a foul, for all his good play his embellishments are embarrassing

"Everton boss Sean Dyche will monitor Newcastle's Nick Pope, 32, in the coming months as a potential replacement for fellow England goalkeeper Jordan Pickford, 30, in the January window".
File under big fibs. But I love the idea that Dyche is planning for next year.

They always were Neil, but Jeez I'd have him back in a heartbeat, and Richy.

Based on that excellent save from Cunha, I'd have him.
Pickford saving that... and he doesn't because his arms are too short.

1-0 down at half-time, Howe makes a triple sub (Isak no choice, I think) and bam!

I went out to watch the second half of the North London derby and the first half of Wolves vs Newcastle. I watched the second half at home.
I didn't realise there has been reported friction between him and the Newcastle board.

Isn't it more with the new DoF, Danny, who has been slagging off previous transfer strategies?

Newcastle should sack Howe immediately, thus making him available for clubs that need some new ideas. 😎

Personally, I’d have Pope before Jordan 100%
But don’t tell my barcodes mate who has a weird obsession with Pickford.

There are a few keepers who have impressed me. Jordan is mostly fine and probably as good as we've got.
Virginia isn't bad back up. I'm never concerned if he comes in.
In other news, it's my Birthday today, one that I share the date with Neville Southall. Give me a win tomorrow night, Everton.

Man City's case into their 115 charges starts today, with Pep saying he's looking forward to the verdict.
Guess he must be the one who's handing over the brown envelopes to the Premier League.

Thanks for the Birthday wishes. One year older and still waiting for Everton!!
I see Gary Shaw has now died. Villa announced it on the eve of their Champion's League fixture with Young Boys. I did feel jealous on the train listening to Villa supporters talking about their travel arrangements. A group planning a few nights in Zurich before heading to Bern.

Apologies, random one. I didn't know where to put this.
Given the stick that Dominic Calvert-Lewin got, I see on the news this morning that Declan Rice made his debut as a model on the catwalk at the Emirates strutting his stuff!!
