Everton Way is set to welcome fans to the Hill Dickinson Stadium later this summer. The paved walkway is close to completion and will be an iconic feature at the club’s new waterfront stadium.

It will feature 36,000 personalised granite stones from Everton fans across the world and plans are currently underway to map the location of each stone and inform the fans on where they can find their individual messages.

“We are pretty much finished as far as laying is concerned,” said Kevin O’Brien, Director of Intaglio Creative. His company has been charged with managing the installation of stones at the walkway.

“As everyone knows, 36,000 stones were sold and there's about 34,500 in the ground right now. Those last 1,500 will be in before the end of next week, then we've got the timeline to finish and we’ll be into the cleaning, sealing, and grouting.”

The timeline will feature key moments from the club’s long and glorious history and will run along the top of the Everton Way.

“If you just have a look at some of the messages on here, they have a deep emotional meaning for a lot of the supporters and they'll be coming and looking at them game after game, year after year, season after season,” he explained.

“Aesthetically, it looks absolutely fabulous, and everybody who has a stone in Everton Way will get an email with a location map on. We’re working on that right now and we’ve already mapped around 10,000 of the stones in the ground now, so we know where about a third of them are.

“That's a continual process that we're working on. And at some point later on in the summer, everybody will get that email with a simple location map directing them to their specific area of Everton Way.”

Are they using What Three Words to map them?
That is accurate to 1 m so easy to find from there.

I have one in honour of the man who ensured I supported Everton – my dad. My two kids and I are doing a GP to BMD/HDS walk next month so looking forward to finding the stone.

A few of us walked past it at the last event match.

It wasn't complete, but was already looking stunning. The whole approach to the stadium and exterior does.

This is a great idea by someone at the club, I wonder how much the club made from this after the costs?

My dad's name is there, I also have that name, Joseph Hurst.

He raised me as an Evertonian, and I'm also proud to stick to another standard that he set me: I don't swear if I can be heard by a lady. I still try to stick to that standard, even though he has sadly now died.

I’ve read a few moans that it’s slightly off centre proportionate to the stand. It is, but it doesn’t bother me. I wonder if that was deliberate?

I’ve not bought a stone but I have a photo in the fan wall. Are they sending a map of that as well?

Paul @5, maybe leaving room for additional ones?? Not sure.

Mark, if I, and others, can find you in the Prince George near Selhurst Park (when I eventually find it), you'll find yourself!

This is a wonderful legacy inclusion, worthy of a people's club.

I can't wait to go for the first time, I've stood at the gates and admired from afar, what a stunning stadium this is.
