Everton are introducing a new ballot system for fairer distribution of match-tickets for home games at the Hill Dickinson Stadium in the upcoming 2025-26 Premier League season.

The updated process will see an initial ballot open to paid-up and current Forever Blue+ Members in advance of each home game. The approach was successfully trialled ahead of the final home match of the 2024/-25 season against Southampton.

The clubs ays the ballot system helped to deliver a smoother and more transparent sales experience, while also allowing them to identify and remove a significant number of suspicious or ineligible applications – strengthening protections against bots and touts.

  • To ensure consistency, the ballot for each home Premier League fixture will open at 10 am on a Monday, 4 weeks prior to the fixture date. From that time, all Forever Blue+ Members, including those Members requiring accessible seating, will be able to login to their Everton ticketing account and apply for a ticket(s).
  • Members will be able to submit group applications of up to six eligible supporters and will be asked to indicate two preferred price bands/seating areas they wish to be considered for in the ballot. Members will also have the option to declare if they wish to be considered for alternative price bands/seating areas should they be unsuccessful in the ballot for their two preferred options.
  • The ballot registration window will close at 4 pm the following day (Tuesday).
  • All ballot entries will then be reviewed to remove any duplicate or ineligible submissions and to identify any suspicious patterns that may indicate touting or misuse.
  • The ballot will then be drawn, and successful supporters will be contacted on the Thursday afternoon with confirmation of their seat details and a notification that a payment has been processed.
  • Unsuccessful applicants will also receive a notification and will have the opportunity to purchase tickets via Resale should they become available. If the initial ballot allocation has sold out, the Resale window will open from 10 am on the Friday, allowing Forever Blue+ and Forever Blue Members to access tickets listed by Season Ticket Members unable to attend the match.
  • Should the ballot not lead to a sell-out, a second sales window will instead open at 10 am on the Friday for Forever Blue Members. Tickets in this sales window will be offered on a first-come, first-served basis to supporters purchasing online, over the phone (0151 556 1878) or in person. Forever Blue+ Members who did not apply during the ballot phase will also be eligible to buy during this window. Once the match has sold out, the Resale window will then open for Forever Blue+ and Forever Blue Members.

The ballot for the first home fixture of 2025-26, against Brighton and Hove Albion on Sunday 24 August, will open at 10 am on Monday 28 July.

I've managed to get a ticket for the West Ham game.

I can't wait to get the new stadium feel!

Genuine question: Are West Ham tickets on sale?

Neither me or my son can see them on the official website.

I don't understand? The tickets for the Brighton game don't go on general sale (to Membership plus) until 4 August.

How can the West Ham tickets be on sale already?

Because it is now a Monday night, then Seat Unique basic package is now £125.

Premium Seating in Block 229 (which is in the corner), including a £10 voucher to use on food/drink in the ground, a 10% instore discount for club merchandise and 10% off a tour of Hill Dickinson Stadium.

I gave my kids a choice. One decided on the already booked holiday (I do worry where his priorities lie) and the other £800 in my will or be there at the Brighton game. Wisely he chose the latter. Yeah, £800 but this was something that would never happen again.

Also, Mark, matchday tickets for ForeverBlue+ Members will be applied for on a ballot basis, so no match tickets are yet available!

Don’t think they are on sale yet, Danny. Should imagine it will be mid August before any tickets go on sale.

As a matter of interest, does anyone know how many tickets will be available on a match by match basis, and how many season tickets were finally sold? I’m guessing the only seats that will be available on a match by match basis will be the two or three sections above the away fans.

Rob,

I think Premier League rules dictate that season ticket sales cannot exceed 80% of capacity, so that would be around 42,000, leaving about 10,000 on sale to members and if it got there, general sale.

Then take off 3,000 for the away allocation, so that's down to 7,000.

There are apparently 34,000 on the season ticket waiting list.

I don't know if corporate hospitality comes into that equation or is separate from the stadium capacity.

It's as Phil at 6 says, Danny, Seat Unique, £125 each.

I don't mind the cost as a one off, but I can understand people scratching their heads over this.

It doesn't affect me, Andrew, as I have a season ticket for next season.

But out of interest, how have you bought a ticket if they are not on sale yet? It can't be through the club??

You answered. I'm not a fan of those sites. I would rather supporters can buy off the club at face value rather than overpay.

Each to their own.

Sorry for a dumb question though it is ticket-related:

When are the 2025-26 season tickets ‘issued’ or sent out?

If this new ballot system is to prevent touting — how come a third party website is selling tickets that Everton members do not yet have access to?
Mark Murphy

So I moved my holiday from the 4th to the 5th so I'd be able to log on and buy my Brighton ticket as a plus member. Now it seems it'll be down to luck??

I'm not sure that's a “fairer deal” given that I bought the plus membership at a higher price?

Mark, I feel that the ballot system will only be an option for most of the matches, I suspect that the likes of the derbies will still be applied for on a credits basis, ie,match attendances of the previous season, I am not too sure how the new ballot system would handle that scenario.

My surprise is with Eric's post, tickets already available on a third party website! That can't be right, surely. Tickets from source, Everton FC, must be the criteria adhered to regardless of what method of application is used.

I will just put my name in the hat, pray hard and promise to be really really good to further my endeavours to acquire one.

And you've gotta love this reaction from the FAB:

We note the Club's recent statement regarding match day ticketing. However, we must make it clear that the Fan Advisory Board {FAB) and it's represented groups, including the Everton Fans' Forum, Supporters' Clubs Committee and Disabled Supporters' Association, were not consulted on either the substance or the timing of these changes.

Whilst we understand the Club's efforts to address the growing concerns around ticket touting and misuse, and also that not every decision will receive universal support, we believe that any decision directly affecting supporters should follow a proper process of consultation. That means engagement that is timely, transparent, allows for meaningful feedback, and ensures supporters' voices are
genuinely considered.

We are not only disappointed that this process was bypassed in this instance, but also concerned that it follows so soon after the recent launch of a new membership scheme.

We have raised our concerns directly with the Club and have requested an urgent meeting to discuss both this decision and how future consultation with fan groups can be strengthened and upheld.

That is just pitiful.

Ted #13:

"My surprise is with Eric's post, tickets already available on a third party website"

Just going by what Andrew says at #1 & #8, he has tickets for the West Ham game from Seat Unique that have not yet gone on general sale?

Michael @14,

I appreciate that the FAB has written a "strongly worded letter" — but will it carry any sway? I doubt it, but good luck to them if they get their requested urgent meeting.

And okay, Seat Unique are listed as one of the official partners; however, I'm uncomfortable with a promotional / sales website being able to snap up blocks of tickets and then sell them over face value.

There are a few non-official ones out there as well. I look out of interest, but I have never used them and wouldn't. One has Brighton tickets starting at £172 for standard seats.

I know it is common practice now to outsource services and it's business, but it doesn't sit well with me for football tickets.

As for the new balloting system, it is interesting to compare the FAB's claim. The club has stated it was implemented after consultation with fans' groups and direct feedback from supporters.

I'm not accusing either side of telling porkies, but that tells me there is a disconnect in communication between the club and what is supposed to be its main platform for airing views and concerns of supporters.

I was really surprised at the tone of that FAB response, Danny, but then they feel they are being sidelined by decisions being made that they want to be part of.

I had concluded on the other FAB thread recently that it seemed the FAB had not held a joint meeting with the club since the TFG takeover — but it seems they are just behind with their updates on the FAB website.

The club website summarizes a FAB meeting held after the first test event at Hill Dickinson Stadium in February 2025, with meeting minutes here. Some snippets

The Club would be working with a third-party specialist organisation to conduct a strategic review across all of the Club's fan engagement. [Why? No reason given. Perhaps a requirement of the Premier League FAB rules and regulations?]

The process would commence in the coming weeks and fan groups the Club already have structured dialogue with will have the opportunity to play their part in the review.

The FAB outlined their overarching role and the support they provide to the Club internally and externally, and their desire to also engage with supporters. [The FAB saying "Just ask us! That's what we're here for!!!"]

Dave Kelly requested Everton seek clarification from Brentford about security policies that see supporters have their wallets searched.[Thoughts, Danny? Still carry some ex-Army ID in there? Your personal copy of the OSA???]

And the last item of AOB:

FAB members asked if any final decisions had been made in relation to pre-season. Richard Kenyon confirmed that the Club's pre-season plans had not yet been finalised. [Doh!!!!]

Danny O'Neill

That opens a few more questions, Michael, relating to me questioning if the club are viewing the FAB as the goto body for supporter engagement and the disconnect in communication between the two.

This appears compounded by bringing in a 3rd party to conduct a review across all of Everton's fan engagement, meaning other supporters' groups. Surely that is what the FAB was designed for?

FAB meets with the club. The FAB then corals the various supporters' groups and at the next meeting with the club, conveys recommendations and concerns, which leads to your "just ask us" interpretation.

As for my wallet, there's still a bit in there!!!

You're right about the FAB website. The latest news section is still showing the latest update as being a statement when the TFG interest was announced in September last year.
