Everton U18s 0 - 1 Man Utd U18s

Everton U18s were narrowly beaten by Man Utd at Finch Farm today in their first game of the new U18 Premier League (North) season.

Lots of fresh faces at this level as a number of youngsters who featured last season move up to the U21s. Ruben Gokah made his Everton debut as centre-back after his move from Charlton Athletic.

Other new names include Shea Pita (full-back), Freddie Murdock (midfielder), Lews Evans and Jake Doughty.

The lone goal of the match was a first-half penalty scored by Manchester United's captain, Amir Ibragimov. The penalty was awarded after Everton's goalkeeper, Douglass Lukjanciks, fouled United's JJ Gabriel. Everton had a number of opportunities in the second half but were unable to find an equalizer.

Everton U18s: Lukjanciks, Pita, Poland, Gokah, Gardner, Murdock, Nsangou, Akarakiri (73' Matos), Loney (73' Doughty), Olayiwola [Y] (88' Evans [Y]), Stewart [Y] (73' Robert).
