Everton U21s 3 – 4 Norwich City U21s
Everton U21s went behind early on to Norwich City at the Big Help Stadium in Southport and were 3 -1 down at the break. But they battled back to square the match before giving up a late goal.
The visitors opened the scoring within 5 minutes as a fine half-volley arrowed in to the top corner. Martin Sherif restored parity for Everton 6 minutes later, nodding in from a couple of yards out.
The Young Canaries took the lead once more in the 29th minute, later increasing the away side’s lead in the first minute of first-half injury time.
The game concluded in a similar thrilling fashion to how it started. Two quickfire goals from half-time substitutes George Morgan and Francis Gomez meant the hosts had equalised with 13 minutes remaining. The game was set for one last turn, though, with the visitors snatching the winner 7 minutes before the end.
