Chief among them are concerns among his partners in Eagle Football Group around Farhad Moshiri’s links with sanctioned oligarch, Alisher Usmanov, and the sponsorship his USM Holdings provided the Club prior to Russia’s invasion of Ukraine; the murky nature of the loans from 777 Partners and A-Cap that frightened off the Friedkin Group and the fact, having bought Lyon, Botafogo and Molenbeek, that Eagle might be over-stretched.
