Everton are still hopeful that they can extend Dominic Calvert-Lewin’s stay at the club, according to a report by Peter O’Rourke of Football Insider. The 28-year-old, injured since January, returned to action from the bench against Ipswich Town last weekend.
He is one of 15 players, including those on loan, who will be out of contract at the end of the season. However, Football Insider sources believe that Calvert-Lewin’s situation is a developing one, and he could end up staying at the club.
The Toffees believe that he could still be persuaded to sign a new contract ahead of the club’s move to Bramley-Moore Dock next season. It is also believed that a number of clubs are also making moves to sign the striker and the ball is now in his court.
Signed from Sheffield United in 2016, Calvert-Lewin has spent nine seasons with the club. He has made 270 appearances and has scored 71 goals so far.
