I’m hearing plenty of rumours about when the final home game to ever be played at Goodison Park, against Southampton, will be played. At the moment, it’s scheduled for Sunday 18 May (the FA Cup Final is 17 May). However, I’m hearing it will be Monday 19 May, 6 weeks today.
There are, as yet, no announcements on televised games for that weekend, and I believe Sky and TNT have to announce their games at a minimum 6 weeks in advance.
Under normal circumstances, I doubt very much our game would be chosen for TV, but this is not normal. So will our game be put back 24 hours for our final game at Goodison, and all the aftermath celebrations — bearing in mind West Ham’s final game at Upton Park was shown live?
